Batticaloa, Nov 27 (Daily Mirror) - Search operations are still underway to locate eight people, including five children, who went missing after the tractor they were travelling in was swept away by floodwaters yesterday in Karaitivu, Batticaloa, police said. 

They said at least 14 people were travelling in the tractor at the time of the incident.

The body of a 15-year-old child has been recovered, and efforts continue to find the remaining individuals.

Police said that the children were returning home from Nintavur Madrasa School when the incident occurred.
