The Attorney-General assured Colombo High Court today that the progress of the investigations into the fire-ravaged container ship, X-Press Pearl vessel would be presented to the court on August 6.
Deputy Solicitor General Madhawa Tennakoon appearing for the CID made these remarks when the High Court inquiry into the X-Press Perl vessel came up before High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte.
President's Counsel Anura Meddegoda appearing for the directors of the Sea Consortium Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, the Local Agent of X-Press Pearl vessel told the court that his clients have already handed over electronic equipment including laptop computers to the CID for investigations.
Five suspects including the Captain of the fire-ravaged container ship MV X-Press Pearl and four other directors of the Local Agent of X-Press Pearl vessel were present in court.
They are currently out on bail.
The High Court fixed the case for August 6 to evaluate the progress of the investigations into the incident.
