Above 100 mm showers likely due to low-level atmospheric disturbance

Colombo, August 13 (Daily Mirror) - Due to the low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, heavy showers above 100 mm are likely in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and North-Western Provinces, the Forecasting Division of the National Meteorological Centre said.

They said the prevailing showery condition over the island is expected to continue further.

However, thundershowers would occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva Provinces. Showers would occur at several places elsewhere on the island during the evening or night.

Meanwhile, showers may occur over the eastern coastal areas during the morning too.

Therefore, the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
