Ajith Mannaperuma withdraws from election

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Gampaha district candidate Ajith Mannaperuma has withdrawn from the general elections as he has been removed as the electoral organiser of the SJB.

Mannaperuma told the media that he has withdrawn from the campaign. He was to contest from the SJB.

He is a henchman of RW, he secured decentralised funds from RW, a proxy, when others of SJB were deprived. He is an untrustworthy and unreasonable bloke.

A fellow with no political maturity. He was always backing Ranil on the sly. Had very close and cordial relationships with the MPs from the SLPP. Always kept praising what Ranil and his team did at TV political debates. He was asking for trouble and got it with a strong cane. All points to a landslide for the NPP.

Anyway In GAMPAHA District no one from SLPP will be elected to the New Parliament . Also Very Few from SJB , However A . Mannaperuma any way on the losers list due to his relationship with RW and some of SLPP members . Therefore people of GAMPAHA District nothing to lose with out his representation in the new Parliament also last election he didn't have enough votes to get elected and he came to the Parliament on the created vacancy due to Ranjan's jail sentence . In short people will not voted for him any way because of his double standards due to his under the table dealings with RW and the SAMANALAYA group , as well as all the NPP candidate in GAMPAHA district will be electing to New Parliament with all 29 Members from the List and bonus seats .

SP won the battle with RW, but lost the war to be a part of a transformative government. If his brain was larger than a peanut, he would have listened to wiser counsel, and been PM in an RW led government. But wiser counsel was not to prevail and he chose to given the driving seat to his kitchen advisors.

Fortunately, Sajith did not become President. Imagine the mess he could bring to the country for the next few years if elected. A person without a proper personality who could show his leadership even when nominating candidates will have an utter mess when he appoints ministers and officers in his government.

It is too early to comment the outcome of the parliamentary election although some of the SJB known faces have been axed due to many reasons. The JVP should not underestimate the present situation because most of the new comers of the JVP are trying to piggy ride on Anura's victory. That will never happen because the voters will definitely vote their choice of candidate in their district. In the Presidential election except for the SJB candidate the other candidates had past skeletons to explain thats why Anura won, This time it will be a different scenario where most of the JVP contestants are novices and now they are resting on the laurels of Anura's victory. This will be similar to the hare and tortoise race where the tortoise although slow will come out victorious. Wait and see!!!!!

@Editor DM - Connect - In Parliamentary elections unlike a Presidential election although the prominent candidates of other parties are not contesting,voters who have right throughout had an allegiance to a particular party will vote for that party even if you nominate a scarecrow so the chances are that voters will never prefer novices. Even Anura dented the bases of other candidates because of their tricks except SJB and also from the Christian voters because he made many promises to bring the culprits to book of the Easter Sunday Bombing otherwise how can one justify the votes from the whole belt of Wattala, Negombo etc. was an X for Anura. But the present scenario has changed consequent to Anura's address to the survivors of Catholics who now feel a doubt. Today the voters want honest legislators so do novices of the JVP fullfill this requirement of honesty. Although Anura/ Harini are known for their attributes will voters leapfrog to catapult unknown devils!!!!!!!!
