Amaraweera, Lasantha, Duminda removed from SLFP positions

Colombo, March 30 (Daily Mirror)- Ministers Mahinda Amaraweera, Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Duminda Dissanayake were stripped of their positions in the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) today.

Dissanayake was the national organizer of the party while Minister Amaraweera held the post of senior Vice President.

The decision was taken at a special meeting convened by party leader Maithripala Sirisena.

The party appointed K.P. Gunawardena as National organiser, Hector Bethmage as Treasurer and Sarath Ekanayake as Senior Vice President.

Right decision. Good thing to get rid of them as when the election is nearing they wud cross over to support Ranil for their own benefits. How about Nimal Sripala? Why was he missed out? He is closely connected to Ranil n it will not be a surprise if he ditches SLFP soon. He is sure to retain his present ministerial portfolio if Ranil wins the election. He has suddenly become arrogant with the way he handles the institutions under him.
