Another train strike in the offing
Colombo, June 13 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Railway Station Master's Union (SLRSMU) has decided to launch a trade union action demanding proper solutions for not promoting Station Masters every five years.
While issuing a letter, the union said that promotions have not been given to Station Masters, Railway Controllers, Locomotive Engineers and Supervisory Managers who are under the same grade.
The union alleges that though the issue had been discussed with the Railways General Manager, Transport Ministry Secretary and Minister, no favorable response has been received.
Therefore, the union has decided to take immediate trade union action tomorrow if solutions are not provided in writing within two days.
