Anura accepts ITN invitation for public debate with Sajith
Colombo, June 06 (Daily Mirror)- The National People's Power (NPP) has informed the state owned Independent Television Network (ITN) channel that NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake is ready to participate in the debate with SJB leader Sajith Premadasa on the ITN channel.
The NPP has acknowledged the letter sent by the ITN on June 4 expressing its willingness to facilitate the proposed debate on June 6.
NPP Executive Committee member Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, who is handling the matters related to the proposed debate said in a letter to the ITN chairman that it is important to confirm whether Premadasa is participating in the debate as it is a scheduled debate rather than a normal TV debate.
He requested the ITN to immediately inform the NPP if Premadasa was participating in the debate on the scheduled date and time.

What’s the use when nominations or even date of elections haven’t been given. After all both parties are not in power. So fare what have they done to the community or catch any crooks genuinely than talking and dreaming?

The debate should be held only after the Presidential election is announced and the main candidates have filed their nominations. Sajit should not fall to Ranil's ploy as he wants to demin him and push him out of the Presidential race. The debate should be held by three maim candidates. As there is an economic crisis, the economic council debate must be held first. In addition, ideally on the devolution of Judicial powers, too. Otherwise, no purpose for a Leaders' debate since a country is governed by a cabinet of ministers with the President. NPP / JVP evade it as the No Policy Party. Nothing strange as typical of them.

Ranil's uncle has been a former President. Namal's and Sajith's fathers have been former Presidents and therefore Ranil, Namal and Sajith have birth rights to become Presidents in Sri Lanka despite they are idiots. AKD's father or mother has not been a former President and hence he has no birthright to be President of Sri Lanka although he is a very capable fellow.. So there is no need to debate and Ranil, Sajith or Namal should be the next President.

The shameful back and forth about a debate between Anura Kumara and Premadasa can be commented on in two ways: either it reveals the poverty of the debate culture in the country or it shows a ridiculous comedy of two bad amateur actors who never belong on the big stage!!! I propose a solution: ITN, the very reputable television company, should invite all four of the candidates named so far to the debate: Anura Kumara, Fonseka, Premadasa and Ranil!!! Then people can get a realistic picture of their future president!!!

A supporter of heredity transfer ; AKD's capability showed when he was asked about the Finance minister and the Foreign minister of his intended government as he could not give a sound answer but had to drink many glasses of water. Won't he have a cabinet of ministers? So, there must be a debate between economic councils to precede the leaders debate as the economic crisis critical in SL.

AKD with the gift of the gap seems to be aided by president. It is a political trap for both debaters. There is no substance or any meaning to the words frequently uttered by AKD. His objective is to defeat Sajith in a useless debate, knowing very well that he cannot defeat Sajith in the presidential election. People must understand the sinister plan of these red shirts who have been vying to get the control of the government through whatever means possible, including lies, murder and pillage.
