Kandy, July 16 (Daily Mirror)- In the wake of the shooting incident on former US President Donald Trump, various factions of the Buddhist clergy raised their concerns that National People's Power (NPP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake must be protected, General Secretary of the National Bhikkhu Front (NFF) Ven. Wakamulle Uditha Thera said today.

Speaking at the NPP Kandy District convention, the Thera said corrupt politicians could resort to any ruthless crimes for power.

"NPP leader Anura Kumara must be protected. After the shooting incident on former US President Donnald Trump, Buddhist monks who were concerned proposed that Anura Kumara must be protected. They suggested whether it is possible to deliver his speeches without appearing in public in person all the time. He must be protected. These corrupt politicians will do any ruthless crime for power," the thera said.
