"Cleaning up is good but do you want to end up with an L board Parliament and a government," he questioned.

He said the Economic council appointed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on comprises persons from various fields but they lack knowledge on the economy." Do these people know what an extended fund facility agreement is," he questioned.

He said Sri Lanka might lose dollars 8 billion concession from foreign debt services which was secured during the previous regime. " Also one wonders as to why talks with the IMF should go for a third round. The IMF's norm is to complete a discussion in two rounds. Why is Sri Lanka going for a third round? Sri Lanka will end up going bankrupt once again at this rate. Therefore it is essential to see that there are experienced persons in Parliament, " he said.
