Asiri Hospital plans USD 100 Mn investment in Colombo Port City

Colombo, Jan 02 (Daily Mirror) - Asiri Port City Hospital (Pvt) Company has proposed a venture to establish a hospital in Colombo Port City with an investment of USD 100 million.

The project has received government support, as it aligns with strategic priorities outlined in the Colombo Port City (Guidelines on the Grant of Exemptions or Incentives to Businesses of Strategic Importance) Regulations, No. 2 of 2023.

The proposal presented by the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Investment Promotion, to grant relevant exemptions or incentives to the Asiri Hospital project under the said provisions, and to announce the project as a primary business of strategic importance through a gazette order, and then table the said order in Parliament, received approval from the Cabinet of Ministers.

Why involve a private hospital in the port city, this is not going solve medical problems in the port city. So many millions must have been bribed to our criminal ministers and officials to get this approval. One day a new government would come and put all the crooks involved with this crooked hospital to long term imprisonment.

Asiri comes under the Softlogic Group which is having the privilege of opeming super markets with liquor licenses under a special treatment category wavering. rules and regulations due to its owner's close connections with the former ruler who sppointed him the Chairman of Sri Lankan Airlines and it is obligatory on the part of the present proxy of the former to grant addendums to the privileges already enjoyed by the Asiri Group.
