The most astrology practices in Sri Lanka are not yet proven as scientific. However that does not prevent people making predictions. Most of the times those predictions are proven utterly wrong. However, can we legally punish people making idiotic predictions? If idiocy is a punishable offence, we have to build a lot of prisons in Sri Lanka. May be a section in the parliament is also allocated as a prison as well. We have so many practices which cannot be explained through science. We say worshiping a bo-tree, sthupa and a monk will give merits. Although this is not proven, we do this as a decent practice. Killing even an ant is a bad practice in Sri Lanka but killing a lamb in western countries is not considered as a bad thing but a basic necessity in life. However, they have many good practices Sri Lankans do not practice. Socalm down people. As long as someone does not do a physical harm to a human life, just tolerate and move on. Please do not waste tax payer money on these.

If he had predicted also the successor, no action would have been taken, the successor would do utmost to defend him.

One particular media channel grants plenty of hype to Manjula Pieris. These kind of programs should be banned and not encouraged. They are destroying the true Sri Lankan culture. These breed of people earn their livelihood through falsehoods and deception. By promoting them in your TV channels many innocent people are duped by their falsehoods into spending large amounts of hard earned money. They are tricksters, con artists, pranksters who cheat people out of their earnings, and I would rate them no second to the beggar community.
