Asymptomatic COVID-19 patients to be monitored at homes

Necessary arrangements have been made to monitor and treat asymptomatic COVID19 patients at their homes from Monday (17), Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control State Minister Dr Sudarshani Fernandopulle said.

She said asymptomatic patients who tested positive for COVID-19 with the PCR test would be directed to their homes for treatment and would be monitored by health officials.

However, she said steps would be taken to admit them to hospitals if they come up with complications. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Dr. F Many asymptomatic patients were ordered to stay at home and their families were ordered to “quarantine” in the same house from end April. There was absolutely no treatment and very little monitoring during the quarantine period. Your new order is commendable but please ensure that it is carried out.

It would also ease the Citizens' minds if we're provided with actual hospitalized cases daily than flashing ALARMING rates of cases everyday. People lose hope, mentally disturbed and give up on their future because they don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Why would an asymmetric person be treated, anyway? There is no treatment for asymmetric person. That person is not sick but carrying the virus....therefore an asymmetric person should stay home in quarantine. Didn't we know that?

At last you have given a good thought to treat the patients at their homes and such arrangements will save many lives because of the mental issues they face at the make shift centres without proper food and other basic facilities. If people have all the facilities they need at their own homes, they must be allowed to do so while closely monitoring their condition.
