Attack on ’Mainagogama’, ‘GotaGoGama’ protesters: CID quiz MR’s security head, Kollupitiya OIC
Director in charge of former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa's security Unit and the OIC of the Kollupitiya Police had been summoned to the CID to record statements in connection with attacks on unarmed ‘MinaGoGama’ and ‘GotaGoGama’ protesters on Monday.
The Coordinating officer who organized the event at the Temple Trees on Monday is also being questioned by the CID over the incident.
The IGP yesterday directed the DIG in charge of the CID to initiate investigations into the incident in which a group of supporters of former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa attacked unarmed, peaceful protesters outside Temple Trees and near the Presidential Secretariat.
Police said the respective officers have been summoned this morning to record statements.(DSB)
