Ayurvedic practitioners to get additional service allowance: Sisira Jayakody

Colombo, August 7 (Daily Mirror)- The additional service allowance, which was previously only available to western medicine doctors, will be given to Ayurvedic practitioners as well, State Minister for Indigenous Medicine Sisira Jayakody said today.

He said the the Cabinet approved extending the additional service allowance to the Ayurvedic practitioners and that they had been requesting this change for over 18 years.

The Minister made these remarks while addressing the media briefing titled “Collective Path to a Stable Country” held at the Presidential Media Centre (PMC) today.

"The additional allowance for Ayurvedic doctors will be funded through the budget allocated to the Ministry of Health, ensuring that it does not impact the Ministry of Finance. This development is a significant win for government Ayurvedic practitioners," he said.
