Bandula says he never accused RW of bond scam

Minister of Transport, Highways, and Mass Media Dr. Bandula Gunawardena reiterated that he had never accused President Ranil Wickremesinghe of the Central Bank bond scam, for which the individuals appointed by him were responsible.
He told the media at Arukwatta in Padukka that he should not be held responsible for the malpractice of an individual appointed by him.
“I have not yet been informed to attend disciplinary inquiries. At the Central Committee meeting, we protested against nominating a candidate from the SLPP to contest the election. We have agreed to disciplinary inquiries. We have not done anything wrong to warrant disciplinary action. President Ranil Wickremesinghe has put forward a plan to uplift the country and made it a law. Members of a party and of the Central Committee are not slaves. When we make decisions, we must give priority to the future of the country and not to personalities. In fact, we are supporting a national programme and not the President,” he further said.
