Biswal holds talks with Tamil diaspora on reconciliation in SL

US Assistant Secretary of State Nisha Biswal has held discussions with the Tamil diaspora on the accountability and reconciliation process in Sri Lanka

Assistant Secretary for Human Rights Tom Malinowski also attended the discussion held with a leading Tamil diaspora group, the Global Tamil Forum (GTF).

Bishwal tweeted saying that they had a good discussion with the GTF on diaspora efforts to support reconciliation and accountability in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka needs to have discussions with Tamil living out side of Sri Lanka.This was what Mr.Obama advised very strongly to the previous Sinhalese government.This discussion will help not only for the reconciliation but also for the developpements of all North and Northeast by direct contribution of Tamils. Sinhalese should be happy to have Tamils in abroad Sinhalese can not live with out Ztamil

Whilst talks continue on the accountability and reconciliation issues at the international level. The ground realities are that the Tamils in the war affected areas are undergoing so many hardships. It would be appropriate for the Tamil diaspora who helped fund a war that brought so much misery and suffering to those poor tamils to now direct their efforts with the same zeal to help them rebuild their shattered lives. Help them to prosper and regain their dignity and enjoy the peace which has been denied to them for so long and for no fault of their own.
