British national with largest-ever Kush stock worth over Rs. 430 mn nabbed at BIA

Katunayaka, September 26 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka Customs today seized the largest-ever stock of recreational cannabis, known as 'Kush', worth over Rs. 43 million, smuggled by a 21-year-old British national.

The suspect arrived at 9:35 a.m. on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-403 from Bangkok, Thailand. He was arrested at the green channel due to suspicious behaviour. After inspection, Customs officers discovered 43 kilograms and 648 grams of Kush concealed in two of his bags.

The British national and the seized cannabis were handed over to the airport's police narcotics division for further investigations.

Why would he bring it to Sri Lanka? I didn't know Sri Lanka rupees were so attractive. Let's see what strategy the British embassy adopts to secure his freedom. Of course, they were painkillers for personal use. Regardless, it will be a high price the 22yo will have to pay for his stupidity.

Well done, aren't they scanning the baggage before delivery to the belt and aren't they using these expensive dogs they purchased. If not fir suspicious behaviour he would have escaped through. So many may be escaping like this.
