Bus fare to be slashed by 5% starting tonight

What is the difference between a reduction of fares and a slashing of fares? In this case I would refer to it as a slight reduction of fares. The conductor will still take 30/- as the initial fare. Thereafter though the next few fare is 36/-, he will still eke out 40/ from us. So where is the reduction? This will only make the con doctor a richer person! Ideally the initial fare should have been 25/- and thereafter 30/-. Also the authority should have waited untill the new fuel prices were published so that a realistic fare could have been worked out. Either up, down or same. As usual the Mahajanaya has to suffer no end!

Fare may be reduced but no ticket-collector has 2-rupees change.... ever. So the "Real" fare is 30 Rupees. Multiply by number of passengers and trips. A tidy, undeclared profit is gathered by every bus, every time it travels.

Please don't reduce the minimum fare as the passenger will never get the 2 rupees back and will only lead fights. This only helps the driver and conductor to find the money for the bottle.

No change! Anyway, at the rate fuel and other essential items are being reduced , bus owners can double their fleet in a year!

The CTB bus conductors are the people benefitting by this... we never get the 2/= or 3/= balance money.... this money goes to their pocket, and not to the government. Private business are the same...
