Colombo, June 28 (Daily Mirror) - The bus fare will be reduced by five percent from July 1, Inter Provincial Private Bus Association (IPPBA) secretary Anjana Priyanjith said.
He said the decision was taken following a discussion at the National Transport Commission (NTC) over the annual bus fare revision, which has to take place on July 1.
The discussion was held between NTC Chairman Shashi Welgama, the Transport Ministry Secretary and several private bus owners' associations.
Following the discussion and according to the annual bus fare revision, the two parties agreed to reduce the bus fare by five percent.
Accordingly, the minimum bus fare (Rs. 30) will be reduced by Rs 2.
