CBSL Governor receives A Grade in Global Finance report

Sri Lanka’s Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe has been awarded an "A" grade in the Global Finance's 2024 Central Banker Report Cards, an international recognition that honors central bank leaders whose exceptional strategy and leadership has outperformed their global peers.

Dr. Weerasinghe has been listed as one of only seven central bankers to have achieved the rating globally, reflecting his performance during the period of significant economic challenges in Sri Lanka.

“The ‘A’ grade highlights the governor's success in key areas such as inflation management, economic growth, currency stability, and interest rate control. This prestigious recognition reflects the governor's exceptional leadership and strategic expertise in navigating our nation's economy through challenging times" the CBSL said in a statement on X.

AKD will never destroy what is achieved. The so called saviour Raneeeel is eating into treasury funds, that is our money by appointing two new advisors and two Ministers only 30 days being left, for the appointees to have State vehicles fuel security etc to work for him in promoting his candidature. Is this justiciable ?

He destroyed so many businesses by increasing the interest rates to unsustainable levels when the country went bankrupt. Interest rates should have been increased gradually and still we could have come out of that situation. But he wanted to show magic within a short period. He is a destroyer of livelihood of so many people in the country like his former boss Ajith Nivaard Cabral and P B Jayasundera.
