CDS summoned to appear before CID again

Former Navy Commander and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne had been summoned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for the second time to give a statement.

CID sources said the CDS had been informed in writing to appear before the CID Tuesday (27) morning for allegedly harbouring Lieutenant Commander Prasad Hettiarachchi alias Navy Sampath.(DS)

When the Inspector who was forced out of the CID by this government was reinstated,it would have given the CID much needed confidence in this difficult times. We are seeing the confidence with this summons.

Sometimes it could have been a small kock on the head to indirectly ask the next in command of CID to go easy on CDS. A warning shot over the bow of ship as the say in the Navy.

The current CDS must have operated with the knowledge of the political establishment at that time. It is impossible he acted on his own with the ransom demand as there were several such instances involving businessmen. With that establishment in government now, CDS will be confident to appear in front of the police.

Any one will understand the agony of poor parents, only when they lost their son or daughter. Until then tragically, all power plays will go on....this is not a fair governance at all...
