CID records Maithripala’s statement for nearly 6 hours



Colombo, March 25 (Daily Mirror) - After recording a statement for nearly six hours, former President Maithripala Sirisena left the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

He appeared before the CID at 10.30 a.m. today over the statement he had made in Kandy. 

Public Security Minister Tiran Alas had earlier instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to conduct an urgent investigation into the statement made by the former President in Kandy recently that he knew the people involved in the Easter Sunday bomb attacks on 21 April 2019.
