CPC, IOC raise fuel prices once again

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) and Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) have announced another round of increases in fuel prices, effective from midnight today.

The revised rates indicate that Petrol 92 Octane will now be sold at Rs. 361 per litre, reflecting a significant increase of Rs. 13 from the previous price. Similarly, Petrol 95 Octane has seen a substantial rise of Rs. 42 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs. 417.

Auto Diesel has also experienced an upward adjustment, with an increase of Rs. 35 per litre. As a result, the new price for Auto Diesel stands at Rs. 341 per litre. Super Diesel, on the other hand, has only seen a marginal increase of Rs. 1, reaching Rs. 359 per litre.

In addition to the aforementioned changes, the price of kerosene has been raised by Rs. 5, culminating in a new price of Rs. 231 per litre.(DSB)

Lanka IOC was only making their grand profits because while they are inefficient, they aren't as bad as CPC. Overseas companies other than for India will be smarter and be able to all give better prices. India is rife with protectionism and in the long run will just deteriorate. Too much subsidy for farmers there, which will eventually ruin that vast biggest population in the world hell hole. With new western management backed and China backed companies coming in they will offer better prices than Lanka India Oil Company or CPC. Then IOC will have to raise prices to keep their overall profits. If IOC do not raise prices they will lose money. Public wins when Lanka IOC goes, as then another western management having company can replace them.

High taxes, high travel cost, high food cost. What else the Sri Lankans need, whilst the income does not increase? They are screwing us from all corners for the sins and anarchy brought about to the country by the politicians themselves.
