Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) Chairman Mohomed Uwais Mohomed resigned today.

He paid a courtesy visit to Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera last evening to bid farewell, as he will be serving his last day in office today.

Uwais had given notice of his resignation due to personal and professional commitments.

He held the post of chairman for the last 14 months, following the request of the Minister. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

Minister too must resign when his appointee failed. This is how these matters end when political appointees without proper expertise are appointed, they take all benefits for a period when the company is collapsing they resign
