Colombo, January 28 (Daily Mirror) - Claiming that there is an issue in filing cases with regard to Aragalaya activists who were arrested during the Aragalaya time, Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said the government will intervene to provide them with a reasonable solution.
The Minister told the weekly briefing to announce cabinet decisions that the Justice Minister will hold discussions with the Attorney General regarding the matter.
He said this while responding to a question that the Attorney General is not interested in expediting cases filed against Aragalaya activists just as in other criminal cases.
"The government has paid attention to the matter. The Justice Minister will reveal the actions to be taken following a discussion with the Attorney General. It is true that there is an issue in filing some cases. The Attorney General will intervene to provide a reasonable solution but not as a whole but after considering each case separately," he said.
