Sri Lanka Women’s captain Chamari Athapaththu and batsman Harshitha Samarawickrama moved up in the latest ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings.
Athapaththu moved up two places breaking back into the top ten, while Samarawickrama sits at a career-best 27th, moving up 12 spots thanks to her recent form in the home series against Bangladesh during which she was the top run scorer with 125.
Sri Lanka’s captain put in some consistent performances in the same series totalling 103 runs in three innings taking her to ninth in the latest rankings.
Sri Lanka’s bowlers also impressed, with left-arm spinner Inoka Ranaweera improving five spots to 12th in the bowlers’ ranking after taking four wickets in the series.
Sugandika Kumari meanwhile jumped a massive 20 places to equal 33rd, while Udeshika Prabodhani, who was joint leading wicket-taker in the series moved up 21 spots to 38th overall.
