Chamari Athapaththu becomes first Sri Lankan woman to score 3000 ODI runs



National Women's Cricket team captain Chamari Athapaththu became the first Sri Lankan woman to score 3000 ODI runs. 

Athapaththu reached the milestone in the first ODI against New Zealand Women, currently being played in Galle. 

She started her innings needing 49 runs to cross the 3000-run mark, and she reached the milestone with a boundary, which brought up her seventh ODI fifty in just 42 balls. 

She became the 25th Women's cricketer to score 3000 ODI runs.
