Champika Ranawaka’s URF withdraws from election campaign

Colombo, October 10 (Daily Mirror)- United Republic Front (UNF) Leader Patali Champika Ranawaka said they will withdraw from the general election campaign as the 'Samagi Jana Sandanaya' has violated the agreement signed with them.

He said URF will not field any candidate for the general election.

All those who were parliamentarians previously In whatsoever party, don’t waste time trying again this November. Most people will not vote for you. Therefore, be productive, use your time and money to assist the needy in every corner of the country. Just stay away from politics as you have done nothing much to improve the lives of the citizens. Just look at the depleted government medical, transportation, drainage etc systems and facilities will show how much you have done for the people and country.

This was expected. You were jumping from one side to another with no principle, and the voters (and the party leaders) can not trust you any more. Last time you won on SJB ticket and then left to become an independent, very unfair for the party members who voted for you. You can not win as an independent or from your own party, you have to come from one of the major parties. But based on your history, no major party will give the ticket for you and Sarath Fonseka.
