Committee appointed to probe ’’Channel-4’’ allegations
A committee chaired by retired Supreme Court Justice S I Imam has been appointed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe to investigate "Channel-4" allegations about the Easter attacks, President's Media Division (PMD) said.
Retired Air Force Commander ACM Jayalath Weerakkody and Harsha A.J. Soza PC have been appointed as members of the committee.

With all due respect to committee members, it seems like the president wants to pass the ball again! Remember all those previous presidential committees? They'd cozy up in their AC rooms, conduct inquiries, and basically throw a taxpayer-funded party. Now, here's the million-dollar question: What's the project cost for this exercise, and how much is it going to cost us for srilankan citizens?

It is quite obvious that political leaders of this country are safeguarding each other of their betrayals and blunders where most of them are national tragedy. Mr President in spite of the requests to adjudicate the Easter Sunday Bombing by an International team you insist to appoint a Committee which is home grown. If you genuinely want a Transparent and a Truthful outcome why not get one of the ex Presidents like Mrs. Chandrika Bandaranaike, ex Supreme Court Judge Mrs. Shirani Bandaranayake, and ex Director of the Police Mr. Shani Abeysekera to be the composition of the Committe because they have been impartial in the past.

Remember that committee you appointed to investigate the Minister involved in the Japanese bribery case? Your committee found him "not guilty" and he is still in the cabinet when the whole world knows what really happened. Nothing short of a professional international investigation is acceptable.
