Complaint against AKD lodged with Bribery Commission
August 28- A complaint has been lodged against the Presidential candidate of the National People’s Power (NPP), Anura Kumara Dissanayake, with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption over the possession of a house.
The complaint was made by a civil society activist, Darshana Thanthrige, who claims that Anura Kumara has been given a house in the Madiwela Housing Scheme while he owns a residential property in Kadawatha.
“According to the due procedure, if an MP is to be given a house from the Madiwela Housing Scheme, he or she should not have a residential property within 25 kilometers of the Parliament. However, the particular house in Kadawatha is located less than 25 kilometers away,” Thanthrige alleged.
As such, he demands a partial inquiry into the matter.
According to the assets declaration issued by the Bribery Commission, the residential property in Ranmuthugala, Kadawatha, has been purchased in his wife’s name.

Very good. Can't you lodge a similar complaint for Sanath Nishantha family using his Ministerial accommodation, Keheliya family doing the same and many former Ministers who have not returned official residences? Other question, when AKD was given the said house? Was it last month? Why you waited so long? Who is paying you?

Feeling like a cry baby as it is against the party you think of voting. It was based on the asset declaration made recently by your leader Anura. So that is why it took this long. If you have details regarding the above misuse, you can also go and complain but remember if you make false allegations you may get 6m sentence

Storm in a tea cup.? Investigation of any valid complaint is good. But why the unwanted mudslinging? NPP has already convinced the electorate about their credentials. They are led by a strong, intelligent group of professionals. NPP policy document released clearly shows the path ahead for SL.

What about another complaint for Namal Baby Rajapakse for his illegal assets and money laundering? (well Basil and Mahinda's cases will need an army of investigators) What about another for Ranil for his role in CB robbery? What about one for Sajith for printing money?

This is a valid point. Even KD Lalkantha, who is not an MP, occupies an apartment at Madiwela Housing Complex, which is allocated for MPs. Before changing the system of the country, those who preach change must set an example by their actions.

It is so apparent that AKD is contesting for the upcoming presidential election along with the transparency. Hence certain spiteful persons who dislike his success more often making false complaints with the intent of demoralising the NPP leadership however either AKD or other stalwarts cannot be demoralised by levelling unnecessary allegations. Further certain hooligans who hate the success of AKD too are engaged in these types of smear campaigns

Anura or his lawyer could easily trace the route he took from his residence to his destination, and the case would be resolved—dramatically and laughably. From Madiwela to Kalutara, take a U-turn, pass Panadura and Moratuwa on Galle Road, reach Colombo Fort, and from there go to Kadawatha via Kelaniya. Problem solved. An officer from Bribery commission can join, if necessary :)
