Colombo, September 20 (Daily Mirror) -  A total of 269 fresh complaints related to the upcoming Presidential election were received, pushing the total number of complaints to over 5,000.

The Commission said that the complaints were received during the period from July 31 to September 19.

Out of the 5,214 complaints, the National Centre for Election Complaint Management received 1,657, while the District Centres for Election Complaint Management received 2,557.

All complaints were categorised as breaches of laws, with 34 incidents of violence being reported.
