Corrupt politicians quitting politics, a victory of Anura becoming President: Bimal
Claiming that corrupt and racist politicians have opted not to contest this year's General Election to evade defeat, NPP member Bimal Ratnayake said today it was a great victory secured by the NPP even before the General Election victory to make sure that such politicians have not even become candidates at this year's elections.
He told media after handing over the nomination list for the NPP's national list that the NPP must be thankful to the people for electing Anura Dissanayake to presidency, which ultimately ended the politics of the corrupt and racial politicians.
"The people who voted Anura Kumara Dissanayake to presidency did a great thing by removing the corrupt politicians from politics. These politicians have decided not to contest to evade the imminent defeat," he said.
Ratnayake said the NPP will launch its election campaign soon after handing over the nominations adding that a meeting with all candidates has been scheduled for October 11 to brief the candidates.
He said a series of meetings attended by the President will also be held island wide.

Why didn't they cancel their licenses as no legal action is required? Failed as with IMF as failed to get any favourable alteration of Ranil's disastrous plan. No action to recover the loan from Daya Gamage as the People's Bank was forced to write off. What about the rice mafia? Still prevails. Talks only. No action. SL heading for disaster unlike the 100 day programme that he praised.

If no action is taken on these before the general election, then people should think twice. These were the things said on election platform to deceive people. Now AKD fans don't say he needs time. He promised to do it in 24 hours. Back tracking on all promises. No arrests so far. Liquor license not cancelled. Aloysious and other distilleries owe taxes in billions. Nothing done so far to recover. What about the much hyped Rajapakse loot money stashed in Uganda? When are you going to bring them back to pay for the IMF loans

Remember what happened in 2015 and 2019. People wanted to get rid of rajapaksha clan and they did so at 2015 but unfortunately that government failed and in 2019 the rajapaksha clan came back to power. So remember that and make sure you achieve said promises, if not the rajapaksha clan will re surface. For example you have to bring the money hidden by rajapakshas in Uganda, bring money hidden in shell companies by Tiran, punish bond scammers and its supporters, make payee minimum 200000, remove tax on fuel completely, salary hikes for gov sector every 6 months etc.. You have given some promises which are hard to achieve, so need to comeup with a plan to make sure rajapaksha and rw clan does not resurface.

Clearly you don't have a clue about basic economics. If the government is going to raise the tax threshold, remove taxes on fuel, etc, where are they going to find the money to cover that shortfall? Perhaps you believe that there is a money tree growing in the garden of the Presidential Secretariat?

Let's not get ahead of yourself. NPP still has to prove themselves. The people voted for NPP/JVP out of anger with the past regimes and not because they love the JVP and marxist- communist ideology. Yes, many are quitting and it's a good thing, but NPP politicians may end up being the same as they get comfortable with power and influence over the next 5 years.

They do not have much experience. So when ever price comes down, some of the npp politicians think it was a wonder done by AKD and NPP. Wasantha Saramasinghe alias kappam wasantha was over joyed and said the price went down because they manage to remove commision. Then npp economic team member, selfie expert at imf meeting and egg expert Prof Keebiyahetti said the same. Probably that comission goes to both of them.

President shouldn't all these corrupt politicians just walk away from politics they all must be investigated by the bribery commission how they all have earned current properties , weather Tax have been paid, if found they possesses properties bought above their means all must be confiscated. Bribery commission must be allowed to work round the clock money should be allocated for this purpose, passport of all past politicians must be confiscated should be held until investigations over some crocked politicians try to escape on medical ground shouldn't be allow to happen, Law must be harsh only deterrent, good luck to current president to live free of all sickness.
