Court prevents Wijedasa functioning as SLFP Chairman



Colombo, May 20 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo District Court today issued an enjoining order preventing Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe PC and Attorney-at-Law Keerthi Udawatta from functioning as Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Chairman and party Acting General Secretary respectively.

Colombo District Court Judge Sandun Vithana made this order pursuant to a plaint filed by Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) parliamentarian Duminda Dissanayake.

Chandaka Jayasundara PC with Counsel Amila E. Dissanayake appeared for the plaintiff and Romesh De Silva PC appeared for Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, while Kuvera de Zoysa PC appeared for Keerthi Udawatta. Shaheed Barrie appeared for Nimal Siripala de Silva and Pulasthi Rupasinghe appeared for Mahinda Amaraweera.
