Debate on resolution to remove SLC office bearers begins

COLOMBO (Daily Mirror)- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa moved in Parliament the resolution for the removal of the officials including the Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket.

The resolution was seconded by Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva.

Commencing the debate, the Opposition Leader said all 225 MPs will join hands today to expel the corrupt officials of the SLC.

He said if the SLC officials had some sort of dignity, they should resign from their positions today.

Why did we not realize the weaknesses of the SLC at the time Sri Lanka beat all teams needed to enter the Asia cup finals a few months back? At that time all of us were full of enthusiasm for the team to win the finals. Then the team failed and now we blame everyone else except the team themselves. Lucky fellows they are.

How come betting pundits promote cricket league tournaments in SL when Tobacco, Liquer gambling is banned for adv? Was there any tax charged promoting for the tournament? Who approved it? Seem it came under the carpet and be swept under the carpet.

There's few people who's financing UNP for the last 30 years, the names not in particular order, James "Bond" Mahendran, කොලු Malik Samarawickrama, Daya සීනි Gamage, and BOOKIEEMAN!!! Think about it, during this period UNP lost like 28 Elections, where do you think the money is coming from to campaign for elections, mind you politicians don't bring money from home to run for public office. Yeah!!

Is this a felt need? The climate change, poverty, drug addition @ school level, self sufficiency of food are very critical and alarming!! (at least for me)
