Sri Lanka has reported four more dengue-related fatalities while the total cases have inched to cross 50,000, according to the Epidemiology Unit.
The four deaths pushed the death toll to 31.
According to the Epidemiology Unit, 49,559 cases have been reported so far as of this morning, with the highest number of cases from the Gampaha District which stand at 10,879.
The Western Province has 24,730 cases, the highest province-wise. The Epidemiology Unit has also identified 61 high-risk MOH areas.
Furthermore, the month of June logged 9,916 Dengue cases, the highest reported within a month since January 2023.
In this context, people are urged to keep their surroundings clean and eliminate mosquito breeding places in order to keep Dengue at bay. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
