(Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka's middle-order batsman, Dinesh Chandimal, was injured while batting in the 2nd innings after receiving a nasty blow from Mark Wood's thunderous delivery.
"Not sure whether he will be able to bat again. He has been sent for an X-ray at the hospital," one of the sources confirmed over the telephone from the ground.
In the 18th over, Mark Wood's delivery, speeding at 149 kmph, struck his right thumb, and the physio, who ran immediately to the wicket, found it to be swollen.
Chandimal is playing as the designated wicketkeeper in this Test.
Should he be unfit to take further part in the match, he will be allowed to have a substitute for the job.
