Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama appointed new SLMA President



Colombo, Jan 07 (Daily Mirror) -  Senior Consultant Physician Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama has been appointed as the new President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA). 

Dr. Wijewickrama officially assumed duties in his role as the 136th President during an event on Saturday, January 6.

Addressing the audience during the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Wijewickrama conveyed optimism about the ongoing efforts to alleviate the shortage of drugs in the country. 

He expressed that there has been gradual improvement in addressing this issue, bringing relief to the healthcare system.

Moreover, the newly appointed president highlighted the willingness of specialist doctors to collaborate with the Ministry of Health. 

Dr. Wijewickrama emphasized their commitment to providing essential advice to the Ministry, aiming to further mitigate the shortage of drugs and enhance the overall healthcare infrastructure.
