Education State Minister vacates illegally occupied house after court order

The Nuwara Eliya Magistrate's Court today (05) ordered that a house at the Henfold Estate in Lindula, which has been illegally occupied by State Minister of Education Aravindh Kumar since 1987 be handed over to the plantation authorities.

The house, originally owned by Plantations PLC, was assigned to Kumar as his official residence when he was employed as a clerk at the estate in 1987.

However, the plantation authorities filed a case in court, alleging that Kumar continued to occupy the house unlawfully even after leaving his position at the estate.

They claim that Kumar has been forcibly residing in the house by using his political influence.

These kinds of uneducated, self centred so call politicians must be stopped now with the change of regime. Everyone having similar issues should make a police report. With this report, both the Speaker of Parliament and the Minister of Security should use their powers and have these ungrateful fellas to vacate the property. They should be made to pay market rental charges back to the actual owner and repair all damages too.

What extent Sri Lanka's legal system efficient? Most of the of the countries which have efficient legal system given final warding (decision) within a year. Sri Lanka legal system is one of barrar to country's development.
