Eight foreigners arrested over cyber-crimes

Colombo, August 2 (Daily Mirror)- A group of foreign nationals suspected to be involved in cyber-crimes was arrested during a raid on a lodging at the Udugama area in Galle yesterday.

Police said they carried out the raid on a tip-off and arrested six Chinese nationals, two individuals from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan who are suspected to have been involved in cyber-crimes.

During the raid, the police seized nine laptops, seventy-three mobile phones and a large number of SIM cards in their possession.

The Galle police are conducting future investigations.
