Election Commission receives nearly 100 polls related complaints



Colombo, August 06 (Daily Mirror) - The Election Commission has reported a total of 99 complaints during the period from July 31 to August 05, related to the upcoming Presidential election.

According to a media release by the Commission, all complaints were categorised under breaches of election laws, with no reported incidents of violence or other types of complaints. 

The National Centre for Election Complaint Management received 68 complaints, while the District Centres for Election Complaint Management received 31 complaints.

The Election Commission is actively addressing these complaints to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process, Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Rathnayake affirmed.
