Colombo, June 19 (Daily Mirror) - The prevailing rainy conditions in the south-western part of Sri Lanka are expected to increase over the next few days, according to weather forecasts issued today.
Showers are expected to occur intermittently in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.
Some areas in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, along with Galle and Matara districts, are likely to experience fairly heavy showers exceeding 75 mm.
Meteorologists have also warned of strong winds, ranging between 40-50 kmph, which are expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western Provinces, as well as in Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Moneragala districts.
