Colombo, September 19 (Daily Mirror) - The Examinations Department and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have launched an investigation into concerns raised over the first paper of the recently held Grade 5 Scholarship examination.

In a special notice, the Education Ministry stated that a decision will be made soon after the investigations are completed.

The Grade 5 scholorship examination was held last Sunday (15).

Preliminary investigations conducted by the North Central Provincial Education Department revealed that the assistant invigilator had shared the photos of the first question paper of the examination among a social media group with private class teachers before the examination began.

Nearly 100 parents had lodged complaints with the Anuradhapura police headquarters over the leakage of the first question paper of the Grade 5 examination. In their police complaints, the parents had requested that the examination held again.
