Colombo, Jan 08 (Daily Mirror) - Existing members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) should not be sidelined when accommodating those who crossover, Party Chairman Sarath Fonseka said.

"The existing members of the SJB who managed to get elected to Parliament in 2020 should not be affected when accommodating newcomers," Field Marshal Fonseka told journalists.

"Those who crossover should be able to work with the supporters of the party. This is essential as they will have to get along with ordinary members of the party rather than the party leader," he added.

Sarath Fonseka towers above all the presidential candidates mentioned so far in every respect!!! He is the only one who has the stature to be president, he has all the leadership qualities, all the personal and political prerequisites to lead the country into a better future! He has proven this as an outstanding military leader and will prove it as a future President!!! Only he is able, together with a well-selected government team, to transform all of the country's major problems, including reconciliation and compromise with the Tamils, into humane and practical solutions!!! The opposition parties and their voters should fully support him and his policies of revitalizing Sri Lanka!!!

Sam Silva, I am dead serious about the person of Sarath Fonseka!!! Having followed the political scene in SL for a long time, I consider his possible presidency to be the best thing that could be wished for this country in these difficult times! Not accepting a defeat once suffered against the extremely questionable (perhaps even manipulative) Rajapaksas does not speak against his personality!!! And what his son-in-law and his (possible!?) misconduct has to do with him remains a mystery to me! Another commentator says that one bad experience with a military leader is enough! One can only say that Gota and Fonseka are worlds apart in personality and character!!! Comparing him to Gota is an insult!!!
