Eye Hospital to come to a standstill as doctors launch strike

Colombo Dec 13 (Daily Mirror) -  The doctors of the National Eye Hospital in Colombo have decided to resort to a one-day token strike tomorrow (14), the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) said.

According to GMOA Media Spokesman Dr Chamil Wijesinghe, the token strike will start at 08.00 a.m. tomorrow.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Dr. Wijesinghe stated that the strike is in protest of alleged misconduct by an administrative officer, which has made it difficult to maintain healthcare and other services.

However, he emphasized that emergency services will not be hampered by the strike.
