COLOMBO (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Private) Limited has just announced the first-ever abseiling activity in Sri Lanka as their brand new pilot programme.
Abseiling is the incredibly useful skill of using a rope to get down vertical drops.
Lotus Tower Management Company Pvt Ltd CEO Major General Prasad Samarasinghe told the media that abseiling activity will be ready to be opened to the public at the end of December or at the beginning of January next year.
The CEO made an open request to locals and foreigners to visit the tower to experience the adventurous event.
The team, comprise of six members, engaged in the abseiling activity to climb down a height of 195 metres from the tower to mark the pilot programme.
After getting this programme for public experience, the people will get the experience of getting down from the tallest man-made building in the country.
People can experience the event with a certified medical report from a doctor.
However, the programme would be launched at the end of December or at the beginning of January next year, the CEO said.
Moreover, the CEO said that after fourteen months since the opening of the Lotus Tower, a total of 1.35 million tourists had visited the tower.
Nearly 34,000 foreign tourists have visited the tower, he added.
