Former Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) DIG Kaushal Nalaka de Silva arrived at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) a short while ago for the second day to give a statement over the inquiry into the alleged assassination plot on President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Nine-hour long statement was recorded from him yesterday also over the same incident.

I have a question to the CID. What if I (as an ordinary citizen) committed this crime? Where would I be today? I am sure I would have been arrested and remanded. Am I correct?

You are absolutely correct. This is Sri Lanka. Rule of law is not applied here.Law is applied only to down trodden people.We are very unfortunate people to live here. Susterm is more powerful than the law. Susterm is controlled by powerful person. and not the law. i can give enough examples. If a small crime is committed by a poor person it is a crave crime to the police. If a grave crime is committed by a VIP or similer individual it is not a crime
