New Ambassadors, High Commissioner invited to attend Independence Day celebrations



Colombo, December 1 (Daily Mirror)- Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath has invited the new Ambassadors and High Commissioner, who officially presented their credentials to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake recently, to attend Sri Lanka's Independence Day celebrations.  

The invitation was extended during a meeting with the nine newly appointed Ambassadors and a High Commissioner at the Foreign Ministry.

The delegates expressed their intention to establish embassies in Sri Lanka in a move to strengthen diplomatic ties.

The delegates also proposed to reach new agreements to enhance economic and trade relations with Sri Lanka.

The Minister agreed to study and review the agreements. 

The new Ambassadors representing Burkina Faso, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Armenia, the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Congo and the Republic of Guinea and a new High Commissioner to represent the Republic of Kenya attended the meeting.
