Fort Police Inspector tests positive for Covid-19
An Inspector attached to the Western Province Special Investigation Unit of the Fort Police Station in Colombo tested positive for Covid-19, area health officers said.
Accordingly, eleven other officers of the unit will be quarantined after being subjected to PCR tests.
The officials said that the IP had not reported to duty since October 14 as he was not well. However, he reportedly visited the police station on Monday.
He tested positive for the virus following the PCR tests conducted on Monday.
The Police station was disinfected following the detection of the patient, health officials said. (DSB)
