Four arrested for kidnapping man for Rs. 3.5 Mn ransom

Horana, March 9 (Daily Mirror) - Police have arrested four suspects in connection with a kidnapping incident where an individual was held for a ransom of Rs. 3.5 million.

Following a complaint from the victim's wife, Moragahahena Police initiated an investigation into the abduction.

The victim was reportedly abducted on Thursday by four individuals arriving in a car at Koralaima in Moragahahena, who subsequently demanded the ransom.

Police arrested the suspects involved in the abduction, along with the vehicle used in the crime.

The suspects, aged between 28 and 45 were identified as residents of Kotadeniya and Angoda areas.

The Moragahahena Police are conducting further investigations.

The ransom demand of 3.5 million (not 3, 4 or 5) points to the reason for the kidnap. "Sri Lanka is a safe country to visit", "...it could happen in any country"..blah, blah, blah)

new kidnapping will be SCHOOL CHILDREN, like the recent kidnapping of close on 300 children in AFRICA. what more can one expect corruption running like WILDFIRE in the country for the past few decades that resulted in the EX PRESIDENT hounded out of the Country and handing in his resignation, so why would others try getting ill-gotten money by kidnapping!!
