Four fuel shipments to reach SL this month

Four fuel shipments including three diesel shipments are expected to arrive in Sri Lanka this month, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said.

Addressing a media briefing, the minister said diesel shipments will reach Sri Lanka July 8th - 9th, July 11th-14th and the third shipment on July 15-17.

He said the Petrol shipment will reach Sri Lanka on July 22-23.

We are tired of hearing this type of nonsense. The date that he said that a shipment was due was postponed several times and the ship did not arrive at all. This time, too, it is going to be a similar story. Until about four months ago, when was it that a minister of Energy had to announce the dates when ships carrying fuel were to arrive. Never. What a pathetic situation?

This is delaying tactic is nothing but a DELIBERATE ploy to stop protests etc. and break the MOMEMTUM building up. Otherwise there is no reason why this gap between 4th July and 22 July. Sri Lankans wake up do not get fooled by this 226 anymore. They only think of their survival and keep this status quo. THEY DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE THIS SYSTEM. THIS INCLUDES ALL CURRENT 226.

Totally agreed. No fuel will arrive. This is just another attempt to prevent the mass uprise on the 9th of July. I just hope our people will no longer get fooled by these cheap tactics and oust these 226 once and for all. This is what they think of us...as fools. So please let's finish this for goodness sake without falling prey all over again.

Yesterday two local Petrol sheds ran out before customers with the right registration were served. Are there any more shipments of Petrol coming this month. If not the new system isn't working. It looks to me three Shipments of diesel and one of petrol must be the four Kanchana is talking about????
